I am so lucky to be the principal at Prairie Winds Middle School. We are a very diverse community, and we will do everything we can to meet the needs of all learners. We are very proud of our diversity and it makes us who we are. We all learn from each other everyday. This will be my first year as the principal at Prairie Winds. This is my 12th year as a principal in our school district. I spent 7 years at Kennedy Elementary School and 4 years at Eagle Lake Elementary School. I have spent time in Worthington, where I was an assistant principal for two years. I also taught 1st grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade in Jordan. I grew up in Helena, MT and went to college at Carroll College. I moved to Minnesota in 2001 after teaching in Montana for two years. I attended the University of Minnesota where I received a Master's degree in Education. I then attended Saint Mary's University and received an Educational Specialist Degree.
My wife's name is Katy and she is a teacher at Rosa Parks Elementary School. We have three strong and healthy boys named Blake, Brett, and Bennett who all attend Prairie Winds Middle School. We also have a wonderful daughter named Livy who attends Rosa Parks. We are highly invested in the great community of Mankato and committed to the excellence of the East Side Mankato Schools.

Assistant Principal
Welcome to Prairie Winds Middle School! This will be my fourth year at Prairie Winds and while I love the location and facilities that this school boasts, it is the diverse and genuinely unique students that make Prairie Winds feel like home. As someone who has spent the majority of her career in another state and in other districts, I can say with confidence that when your students come to Prairie Winds, they are joining a community in which the ultimate goal of each adult, alongside learning, is to create an environment where students feel that they belong, where they know that above all, they are deeply cared for here. As a mom whose two sons will be Prairie Winds students someday, this goal is not just professional, but personal. My mantra has always been to "do right by kids" and although that seems like an oversimplification, it guides every decision that I make in working with your child and family. Regardless of the circumstances in which we connect throughout the following year or years, please know that I recognize and honor the trust that it takes to send your student into our building each day and that, just like you, I want them to have the best educational experience possible while they are in our care.
